Administration

 Jeanene Burris, MSA - Principal

I am so excited to begin serving the Icard Elementary family and surrounding community.

I have lived in Burke County all of my life with

the exception of about ten years.

I received my undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and my graduate degree from Appalachian State University.  Upon graduation from WFU, I taught English and Latin at West Forsyth High School. I then served Wilkes County Public Schools in both English and Latin before returning to Burke County.  I have served Burke County Public Schools as a seventh-grade English instructor, a tenth-grade English instructor, a Latin instructor, an ELA instructional coach, and a high school assistant principal at both Jimmy C. Draughn and Robert L. Patton high schools.

I recently celebrated my thirty-sixth anniversary with my husband Ray Burris.  We have raised four daughters (Cindy, Jenny, Jane, Marianne) and are enjoying our two

grandchildren (Thomas, Cora).

Again, I look forward to the many memories we

will make at Icard Elementary.  Go COLTS!
